Vrai pas en avant par rapport à Antagonist, l'objectif de cette compilation n'est pas de déchiffrer une machine ou un ordinateur : Neurotech se déchiffre lui-même, ouvrant progressivement son cyber metal à une sorte d'electronica metal et ça se remarque par les voix — celle de Wulf devenant de plus en plus humaine, chantée, et celle cristalline de Tanja Ravljen. No Turning Back.

Je me souviens encore de ce mois de juin 2011, quand je tombais sur une chronique ne tarissant pas d'éloges sur Antagonist, premier album du one-man band slovène Neurotech. Je me suis jeté dessus. La magie a opéré tout de suite. Wulf déploie une énergie incroyable : la batterie au rythme mécanique, le piano à la grandeur glaciale et robotique, le cyber metal flirtant avec la techno... tout est bon ! Le seul bémol est le chant de Wulf, manquant de nuances. Mais pour le reste, exceptionnel !!

Quand on évoque le cyber metal, on pense aux structures carrées, froides comme les machines, on pense à ces futurs (pas si futurs...) dystopiques — et Wulf sait faire tout ça. Mais est-ce qu'on pense à des symphonies ? Peut-être pas immédiatement mais ce ne sont pas les innovations qui lui font peur puisqu'il en écrit depuis 2013 et en rassemble quatre ici ! Cristallines, radieuses, ces épopées instrumentales comptent parmi les musiques les plus fantastiques et ambitieuses de sa discographie !

This is one of my favorite Neurotech albums. I really like the riffs in the first part of this album. And the awesome sound effects in the first intro track opening this great piece of a release, it’s really a impressive work as for the provided lyrics too. 👍
